Jewel of the Creek, Dubai U.A.E. is a large development with estimated cost of 1.1 billion USD. The 21 tower complex is a mixed use with a marina, waterfront restaurants, five-star hotels, residential, commercial, office and convention spaces. The towers range from 18 to 20 stories above grade with five stories of below grade parking and mechanical spaces. Mr. Pavlov and Mr. Gueorguiev joined Woods Engineering as lead consulting engineers, part of US team, to assist the designer Kling Consult. The US team represented by 5 structural engineers collaborated with more than 20 structural engineers and 10 architects from Kling Consult. Our team was in charge of designing all reinforced two-way concrete flat slabs and foundation mats on the project. We also provided technical expertise for establishing and design of the lateral load resisting system according to the governing US Design Codes which are now the Standard in U.A.E. ETABS and SAFE were used to aid in these complex analyses. Design of all structures was done in strict compliance with ASCE 7-05 and ACI 318-05. Project is currently under construction.
